Latest EU5+ 890cc CP3 engine

The remarkable, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine is light and powerful, offering high torque at low rpm. The acoustic harmony which results from a combination of the induction sound and exhaust note gives the CP3 its recognizable roar, which heightens the feeling of acceleration. And with the sporty gear changes enabled by Y-AMT, the CP3 feeling can be enjoyed even more.

Full colour 5-inch TFT display with connectivity and navigation

Full colour 5-inch TFT instruments provide an option of four different themes to suit your individual requirements and riding situation, which you can scroll through using the intuitive handlebar switches. You can also link your smartphone to the TFT screen via the Y-Connect app to receive message notifications, calls and listen to music*. Full-map navigation is also available through the free Garmin StreetCross app to make each journey easier. *Requires Bluetooth connected headset linked to the MT-09 Y-AMT. Headset not included.

A new dimension of sports riding: MT

Enter a new dimension to the Dark Side of Japan with the Manual Transmission (MT) setting, with slick and sporty ngeroperated shifts at the touch of a see-saw lever on the left handlebar. The speed and precision of each shift is more consistent than when using even the latest quickshifter, enhancing the excitement and adrenaline in the sportiest of riding conditions. 

Fully automatic shift experience: AT

In the Automatic Transmission (AT) setting, choose between two modes to suit di erent riding scenarios. For a more spirited ride, opt for D+, o ering a sporty and aggressive gear change shifting later in the rev range, or, for long distance or urban rides, D mode delivers a softer gear shift experience.

Intuitive, e ortless controls

Switch e ortlessly between MT and AT on the move with an intuitively placed AT/MT button on the top of the right handlebar cluster. MT gear changes are executed using a tactile see-saw switch at your left-hand nger tips, with a choice between nger and thumb operation or a single- nger shift. In AT, switch between D+ and D with a dedicated thumb-operated MODE button.

Smart Key System

Embodying the MT-09 Y-AMT’s premium speci cation, the Smart Key System allows you to immediately and e ortlessly start your ride, providing the Smart Key is within a speci ed range such as in your pocket. 

Agile and versatile

The MT-09 Y-AMT is an agile and versatile motorcycle, designed to be the perfect tool whether you’re looking for a spirited and sporty afternoon blast, or a more relaxed ride. MT is designed to maximise the thrill of the MT-09’s sportiness on twisty roads, with the fast and slick gearshifts enabling hyper-focus on cornering, braking and throttle application. AT considers both sporty and street riding, with D+ mode tuned for more spirited riding, while D mode is designed to be convenient in the city and on the commute

Engaged riding position

The MT-09 is renowned for its agility and stability and this is achieved by re ned ergonomics, allowing the rider to feel at one with the machine by o ering greater freedom of movement for di erent riding styles—which can be enjoyed at the next level thanks to Y-AMT. The handlebar position features two customisable positions, while the footrests are also adjustable. The two-part seat further ampli es the feeling of freedom while riding.

Brembo radial master cylinder

In order to match the MT-09 Y-AMT’s high torque and acceleration, excellent stopping power is provided by a Brembo radial master cylinder, which produces a linear supply of pressure to the four-piston calipers, mounted to the dual 298mm front discs and offering outstanding braking performance with finger-tip control.

Lightweight CF aluminium die-cast frame

The compact CF (controlled filling) die-cast aluminium frame design is a modern take on the iconic Deltabox layout, providing a high level of chassis stiffness for excellent rider feedback and stability. Its optimised swingarm pivot structure, light and slim chassis give a more laidback feel, making the MT-09 Y-AMT a partner for all kinds of riding. Adding less than 3 kg to the machine, the Y-AMT system is one of the lightest on the market and also adds no width to the engine either, maintaining the lightweight and sporty character of the MT-09.

Customisable ride modes with Yamaha Ride Control settings

Customise your riding experience via Yamaha Ride Control (YRC), which works simultaneously alongside the Y-AMT, allowing you to select engine power characteristics and the level of electronic intervention to suit your preferences and road conditions. Three integrated riding modes are programmed with factory settings to suit different situations: SPORT, STREET and RAIN; but you can also create two custom programmes to suit your individual preferences. The YRC settings can be customised directly in the dashboard menu or on your smartphone via the MyRide app.
